Matthew Ricci, Ph.D.

President

I studied Nutritional Sciences and specifically human adipose tissue leptin secretion with Dr. Susan Fried on the banks of the Old Raritan and in 2000, moved on from Rutgers University, with Ph.D. in hand. Staying in the Garden State, I did postdoctoral research with Dr. Barry Levin at the VA Medical Center in East Orange, where I studied the development of diet-induced obesity in Sprague-Dawley rats. Driving back south on the Parkway in late 2001, I then joined Dr. Ed Ulman and team here at Research Diets, a mere stone’s throw from Rutgers. I have been fortunate these past 22 years, helping to grow the science department and our company into the strongest in the industry. This role, as well as discussing research with our customers, formulating new diets, traveling to attend conferences/give presentations around the world and of course working with my fantastic colleagues are what make my job fun and fulfilling. Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family, go outdoors, cycle and play guitar (though usually not simultaneously).
